Hawk Miniatures produces a range of fine-scale model figure kits and bust kits designed by a modeller for the modeller to build, customise, and paint.

Hawk Miniatures model kit range represents military subjects from the British and Empire forces from many periods in history and conflicts. Such as

  • American War of Independence (1775 to 1783)
  • Napoleonic Wars and Battle of Waterloo (1803 to 1815)
  • Crimean War (1853 to 1856)
  • Victoria's Wars (1837 to 1902)

We aim to offer a truly representative range that reflects all the armed forces, whether they are from the Army, Navy or Royal Airforce, of the time and where possible Hawk Miniatures like to represent specific people to highlight their heroic endeavours, bravery awards and historical events.

Espionage in miniature: this 75mm scale two-figure resin set depicts Major John André talking to Abraham Woodhull during the American War of Independence. André was the British head of intelligence; Woodhull was one of the American agents of Washington’s Culper Spy Ring — a tense, narrative pairing that makes an ideal centrepiece. Sculpted by Alan Ball, it belongs to our “Washington’s Spies” range, inspired by the AMC series TURN.

The set is supplied as multi-part resin figures, unassembled and unpainted, and requires assembly. Any groundwork shown in the photographs was provided by the artist and is not included. Not suitable for children under 12.

John Blakiston Assaye · Royal Engineer figure 75mm · Battle of Assaye 1803

The engineer at Assaye: this 75mm scale resin figure depicts Captain John Blakiston, Royal Engineer, at the Battle of Assaye, 1803. Blakiston served with Wellesley’s force in the Second Anglo-Maratha War and later wrote a vivid account of the campaign — a characterful subject that rounds out the officers of the Assaye command. Sculpted by Alan Ball.

Lanoe Hawker bust · WWI flying ace miniature 1/10th · Great War pilot bust

One of the first great fighter aces: this 1/10th fine-scale bust portrays Major Lanoe George Hawker, VC, DSO, shown in his famous goat-and-mink fur flying coat. A pioneer of air fighting and the third airman to win the Victoria Cross, Hawker was eventually shot down after a long duel with Manfred von Richthofen. Sculpted by Jon Cheeseman, this bust is full of period character.

Painting this bust

Naval Brigades — sailors landed from Her Majesty’s ships to fight on land — were a distinctive feature of Britain’s Victorian colonial wars, and this figure makes an unusual, eye-catching subject.
