Royal Engineer Sudan figure · Victorian colonial miniature 75mm · Sudan campaign 1880
Field engineering in the desert: this 75mm scale resin figure depicts a British Royal Engineer of the Sudan campaign, 1880. The Engineers built the bridges, roads and defences that made Britain’s colonial campaigns possible, and this figure captures one on active service in practical campaign dress. Sculpted by Alan Ball.
The kit is a multi-part resin figure supplied unassembled and unpainted, and requires assembly. Any groundwork shown in the photographs was provided by the artist and is not included. Not suitable for children under 12.
Painting this figure
Sun-bleached khaki and serge, leather and dusty webbing invite subtle weathering — our Kolinsky sable brushes give the control, with a dry brush for the dust. He’s part of our Sudan range with the Royal Artillery, the Guards Camel Corps and the Sudan set — all in our Victorian miniatures range.
